Jasper Art was the AI image generator that Jasper launched in August 2022 as a $20-a-month add-on. As of September 2026, it no longer exists as a separate product. Image creation now lives inside the main Jasper platform as the Image Generator agent and the Jasper AI Image Suite, included in plans from $59 per month billed yearly. It suits marketing teams already on Jasper, not image-only buyers.

      What was Jasper Art?

Jasper is an AI marketing platform founded in early 2021 by Dave Rogenmoser, J.P. Morgan and Chris Hull, according to TechCrunch. It became known for AI copywriting, and in August 2022 it added Jasper Art, a text-to-image tool aimed at marketers who needed blog images, social graphics and royalty-free stock-style pictures.

Reviews from launch week describe it as a beta add-on costing $20 per user per month on top of a Jasper writing plan, returning four image variations per prompt, with a small Jasper watermark on each image. When Jasper raised $125 million at a $1.5 billion valuation in October 2022, TechCrunch called Jasper Art “a recently launched AI art-generating system” pitched for “copyright-free stock photos.”

Jasper did not prominently name the model behind Jasper Art. Synthedia and several early reviewers said it was built on OpenAI’s DALL-E 2, while users on OpenAI’s developer forum argued it looked like Stable Diffusion. Neither claim was confirmed by Jasper.

      What happened to Jasper Art?

Jasper never published a shutdown notice that we could find. Instead, the Jasper Art name faded as image features were rebuilt inside the main platform. The evidence, in order:

What does Jasper offer for images in 2026?

      Image Generator agent

The Image Generator agent turns text prompts into images inside Jasper. Jasper says it uses Jasper IQ, the platform’s brand layer, to follow your Brand Voice, Style Guide, Visual Guidelines and Knowledge Base. It supports square, portrait and landscape aspect ratios, and Jasper lists it as included in Pro and Business.

      Automatic prompt enhancement

According to Jasper’s Images Prompting Guide, updated in April 2026, “Jasper automatically enhances your image prompts,” adding details such as lighting, composition and texture. You can generate from the Image Generator app, from Jasper Chat, or with Canvas assets as context, and refine results through follow-up messages.

      AI Image Suite editing tools

The pricing page lists these editing tools under the Jasper AI Image Suite:

      • Image generation and editing with natural language
      • Background removal and background replacement
      • Image upscaling
      • Remove image text
      • Packshot compositing for studio-style product photos
      • Make image square (uncrop)

      Images inside documents

Jasper’s help center explains that you can insert images into Jasper content from your own uploads, from Unsplash’s free library, or edit them with Clipdrop-powered AI tools. Uploads can be JPG, PNG, SVG or GIF files up to 10.5MB.

Image Pipelines and Image APIs for enterprises

For retailers with large product catalogs, Image Pipelines automates background removal, cleanup, upscaling up to 4×, uncropping, text removal and alt-text generation, with DAM and PIM connections. Jasper claims it produces product imagery “at 10× the speed and up to 50% lower cost,” and says its APIs process 500,000 images a day with eight proprietary image models. These are vendor claims, and pricing is by quote.

      Jasper Studio

Jasper Studio is a no-code builder for custom AI agents and workflows. Jasper says teams can use it to “create and transform on-brand images, and scale them across formats and channels.” The pricing page lists Studio on the Business plan only.

      Benefits of Jasper’s image tools

      • Copy and images in one place: marketers can write a campaign and create its visuals without switching apps.
      • Brand context built in: image prompts can draw on the same brand voice, audiences and knowledge assets used for copy.
      • Practical editing: background removal, upscaling and packshots cover common e-commerce chores.

Who should use Jasper for images?

      • Content marketers: blog headers, social visuals and campaign concepts made alongside the copy.
      • E-commerce and retail teams: clean product shots, new backgrounds and square crops for marketplaces.
      • Brand and marketing operations leads: governed, on-brand image workflows across a team on the Business plan.
      • Developers at retailers and platforms: image editing inside their own products through Jasper’s Image APIs.

      How much does Jasper cost?

Jasper no longer sells image generation on its own. The prices below come from Jasper’s pricing page as of September 2026, in USD.

The pricing page shows no per-image credit limit on Pro. Confirm during the free trial. Jasper also offers a 20% nonprofit discount on request.

Jasper image tools: pros and cons

      Pros

      • Image generation and editing included in every current plan, with no separate add-on
      • Brand context from Jasper IQ applied to image prompts
      • Useful e-commerce edits, including packshots, background replacement and upscaling
      • Terms say you own your output
      • Active development in 2026, including a Nano Banana upgrade and a new inpainting engine

      Cons

      • Jasper Art no longer exists, so old tutorials and reviews describe features you cannot buy
      • Expensive if you only want images: $59 to $69 a month for one seat
      • Jasper does not publish which model powers each image feature
      • Conflicting information on which editing tools Pro includes
      • Jasper’s terms grant it a perpetual license to use your inputs and outputs to improve its AI models

How to create images in Jasper today

      1. Start the 7-day free trial of the Pro plan on jasper.ai, or contact Jasper’s sales team about Business.
      2. Set up your brand context, such as Brand Voice, Audiences and knowledge assets, so image prompts can use it.
      3. Open the Image Generator agent, or ask for an image in Jasper Chat.
      4. Describe the subject, setting and purpose, pick an aspect ratio and generate. Jasper enhances the prompt automatically.
      5. Refine with follow-up instructions instead of starting over.
      6. Use Image Suite tools to remove or replace the background, upscale, remove text or square the image.
      7. Insert the image into your document with the image icon in the toolbar, then cancel before the trial ends if you do not plan to keep Jasper.

      Frequently asked questions

Does Jasper Art still exist in 2026?

Not as a separate product. Jasper launched Jasper Art in August 2022 as a paid add-on, but in September 2026 Jasper’s pricing page and site make no mention of it. Image generation now sits inside the main Jasper platform as the Image Generator agent and the Jasper AI Image Suite, and the old jasper.ai/art address serves the Image Pipelines page.

      What replaced Jasper Art?

Three things replaced it. The Image Generator agent creates images from prompts inside Jasper. The Jasper AI Image Suite handles editing tasks such as background removal and upscaling. Image Pipelines and Image APIs serve enterprises that process product photos in bulk. Much of the editing technology came from Clipdrop, which Jasper bought from Stability AI in February 2024.

How much does Jasper image generation cost?

There is no separate image price. As of September 2026, the Image Suite comes with Jasper’s plans: Pro costs $69 per seat per month, or $59 per month billed yearly, and Business is priced on request. Pro comes with a 7-day free trial; Business is sold through Jasper’s sales team. Jasper does not publish a per-image credit limit for Pro.

What AI model does Jasper use for images?

Jasper does not name one model on its pricing or product pages. Its January 2026 product update says image generation was upgraded to Google’s Nano Banana for better reliability and prompt adherence. Its Image APIs page describes eight proprietary image models for editing tasks, and in 2026 Jasper released its own research model, Nano T2I.

What model did the original Jasper Art use?

Jasper did not clearly say. At launch in 2022, Synthedia and several early reviewers described Jasper Art as built on OpenAI’s DALL-E 2. Some users on OpenAI’s developer forum thought it looked more like Stable Diffusion. Treat either claim as unconfirmed.

Can I use Jasper images commercially?

Jasper’s Terms of Service (version 4.1, effective May 30, 2025) say output is Customer Property and remains yours. The same terms give Jasper a broad, perpetual license to use your input and output to run, improve and promote its services and to improve AI models. EU and UK users can object by emailing legal@jasper.ai. You remain responsible for trademarks and likenesses.

Is Jasper worth it just for AI images?

Usually not. At $59 to $69 a month for one seat, Jasper is priced as a full marketing content platform. If you only need images, Adobe Firefly starts at $9.99 a month, Canva Pro costs $144 a year, Midjourney starts at $10 a month, and ChatGPT includes image generation on its free plan.

      Verdict

Jasper Art is gone as a product. What began in 2022 as a $20-a-month text-to-image add-on is now a set of image features inside Jasper’s marketing platform: the Image Generator agent, the AI Image Suite and, for enterprises, Image Pipelines and Image APIs. The Clipdrop acquisition and the 2026 Nano Banana upgrade give these tools a far broader feature set than the original Jasper Art had.

If your team already pays for Jasper, use its image tools for on-brand campaign visuals and product photo edits. If you came looking for a standalone AI image generator, Jasper is an expensive way to get one. Adobe Firefly, Canva, Midjourney or ChatGPT will cost less and, for pure image work, give you more control.
