- Documented Arabic support. The vendor must state it in its own documentation or app listing. Accuracy figures are reported as vendor claims.
- Dialect coverage. Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) alone is not enough for chat, voice or social media. We note which dialects each tool names.
- Current. Live and usable in September 2026.
- Regional relevance. We favoured tools built or hosted in the region.
- Price transparency. We list published prices and say when there are none.
Arabic language support vs right-to-left interface support
Language support means the AI model understands and writes Arabic. Right-to-left (RTL) interface support means the app itself displays Arabic text, menus and mixed Arabic-English lines in the correct direction.
A model can write excellent Arabic inside an app that renders it awkwardly. OpenAI’s help center lists Arabic among ChatGPT’s supported interface languages, and Google’s Gemini help center lists Arabic as a supported language. Anthropic’s help center, by contrast, lists 11 interface languages for Claude and Arabic is not one of them, and an open feature request on Anthropic’s GitHub reports Arabic text displaying left-to-right in Claude Desktop.

Jais Chat (Jais 2): best Arabic-first chatbot from the UAE
What it is. Jais Chat is the consumer app for Jais 2, an Arabic-first large language model released on 9 December 2025 by Inception (a G42 company), Cerebras and MBZUAI. According to Khaleej Times, Jais 2 has 70 billion parameters and was trained on 600 billion Arabic tokens, covering MSA, 17 regional dialects and Arabizi (Arabic written in Latin letters). The model is released as open weights on Inception’s Hugging Face page.
Best for: everyday Arabic writing and research for people who mix dialect, MSA and English.
Standout features:
- Arabic-first design, with the App Store listing naming Gulf, Levantine, Egyptian and MSA alongside English.

HUMAIN Chat (ALLaM): best for Saudi users and local data hosting
What it is. HUMAIN Chat is the Arabic-first assistant from HUMAIN, the Public Investment Fund’s AI company. It launched on 25 August 2025, powered by ALLaM 34B, which HUMAIN says Cohere independently verified on MMLU as the most advanced Arabic model built in the Arab world. It is hosted on HUMAIN infrastructure in the Kingdom and built to comply with Saudi Arabia’s Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL).
Best for: Saudi users who want locally hosted Arabic chat.

Limitations: HUMAIN launched in Saudi Arabia first, with regional and global rollout announced as later phases, so check availability in your country. For developers, an earlier 7B version of ALLaM (ALLaM-7B-Instruct-preview, from SDAIA) is available on Hugging Face under Apache 2.0.
Fanar: best free multimodal Arabic assistant
What it is. Fanar is Qatar’s Arabic AI platform, developed by the Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University. Fanar 2.0, announced on 9 December 2025 at World Summit AI in Doha, has 27 billion parameters, three times the original 2024 model, according to Middle East AI News.
Best for: a free assistant that also handles images, audio and religious questions.

- Speech-to-text, text-to-speech and audio understanding.
- Islamic knowledge retrieval with source verification.
- Arabic-English translation with dialect support, plus Arabic poetry generation.
- FanarGuard, a culturally aware safety filter.
Pricing: Fanar’s FAQ states plainly: “Yes, it’s completely free to use!” It is available on the web at chat.fanar.qa and on iOS and Android. Developers can request API access.
Limitations: API access is by request rather than self-serve billing. According to Middle East AI News, Fanar 3.0 is in development for December 2026, so capabilities will shift soon.
Falcon-H1 Arabic: best for developers evaluating Arabic models
What it is. Falcon-H1 Arabic is a family of Arabic models from Abu Dhabi’s Technology Innovation Institute (TII), launched on 5 January 2026 in 3B, 7B and 34B sizes. It uses a hybrid Mamba-Transformer architecture and, according to TII’s Hugging Face blog, targets Egyptian, Levantine, Gulf and Maghrebi dialects alongside MSA.
Best for: technical teams comparing Arabic models for their own products.
Standout features:
- Long context: 128K tokens on the 3B model and 256K tokens on the 7B and 34B models.
- TII reports the 34B model scores 75.36% on the Open Arabic LLM Leaderboard, which it says beats systems of 70B parameters and more (a vendor-reported figure).
- A public chat playground at chat.falconllm.tii.ae.
Pricing: free to try in the playground. TII’s launch materials link to the playground rather than public downloads, so check access and licence terms with TII before deploying.
Limitations: a model, not a consumer app, and self-hosting needs technical skills.
ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude: best global assistants for Arabic
What they are. ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude are general-purpose assistants that handle Arabic among dozens of languages. They offer broader features than most regional apps, including file analysis, deep research and integrations.
Best for: bilingual professionals mixing Arabic and English work.
What the vendors document about Arabic:
- ChatGPT: OpenAI’s help center lists Arabic among the interface languages you can select in settings.
- Gemini: Google lists Arabic as a supported language for the Gemini web app, which is available in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and other countries in the region.
- Claude: Anthropic’s multilingual documentation reports Arabic performance at 97.2% of English for Claude Sonnet 4.5 with extended thinking, on a professionally translated MMLU test. That figure refers to an earlier model generation. Claude’s interface is not available in Arabic.
Pricing: all three have free plans. Paid plans start at $8 per month for ChatGPT Go, $4.99 for Google AI Plus and $20 for Claude Pro (US prices; some countries are billed in local currency).
Limitations: the vendor pages cited here document Arabic as a single language rather than by dialect, and RTL display quality varies by app.

Voice is where dialects matter most: an engine trained mainly on MSA news audio can struggle with a Khaleeji customer call.
Munsit: best for Arabic dialect transcription
What it is. Munsit is an Arabic voice AI platform from CNTXT AI in Abu Dhabi, built and hosted in the UAE. Arabic.AI and Tarjama: best for enterprise translation with human review
What it is. Tarjama, founded in Amman in 2008 by Nour Al Hassan, describes itself as MENA’s leading enterprise language company. Arabic.AI, the AI brand that grew out of Tarjama, builds the Pronoia Arabic model, which the company says is trained on more than 2 billion proprietary words across 22 dialects.
