Keeper (keeper.ai) is an AI-assisted matchmaking service for people who want to marry, not date casually. AI models screen a large pool of candidates against your stated preferences, a human matchmaker reviews each match, and paying members are charged per match plus a success fee. It is live in September 2026, serious and data-hungry, but expensive and mainly useful in the US, Canada and UK.

      What is Keeper?

Keeper is run by Keeper Dating, Inc., a Delaware-registered startup based in New York. According to its FAQ, it was founded in May 2022. The About page lists Jake Kozloski as founder and CEO, with co-founders Cody Zervas (Chief Product Officer), Wes Myers (Chief Operating Officer), Toban Wiebe (Head of AI Engineering) and Dawid Motyka (Head of Web Engineering). The company’s stated mission is “to give everyone on Earth the opportunity to marry the right person.”

In December 2025 Keeper announced a $4 million pre-seed round led by Lightbank and Lakehouse Ventures, with Champion Hill Ventures and Goodwater Capital also investing. The company says the service has 1.6 million sign-ups. VICE reported in 2025 that about 300,000 people had gone on to complete full accounts.

Keeper is not a swipe app. You answer detailed questionnaires, Keeper builds your profile from them, and you receive one vetted match at a time. People not looking for something serious are screened out.

      Keeper AI vs look-alike names

This review covers only the matchmaking company at keeper.ai. Two other things share the name:

      • Keeper Security is an unrelated password manager and privileged access management platform at keepersecurity.com.
      • “Keeper AI Standards Test” quiz sites reuse the name of a tool Keeper created. Keeper’s official, free Standards Calculator is at keeper.ai/calc; calculators on other domains are not Keeper’s.

      Key features of Keeper

Deep questionnaire instead of a self-written profile

Keeper asks far more than a dating app. VICE reported questions on test scores, career goals, salary, net worth, relationship philosophy and essay-style answers about love. AlleyWatch reported more than 100 data points per member. Since the V3 redesign on 30 June 2026, questions arrive in a single-card feed, with AI-generated questions specific to potential matches.

      AI screening plus human review

VICE reported that a traditional filter first narrows the pool by basics such as age and location. According to Keeper’s FAQ, its AI then reads your answers and evaluates photos against your appearance preferences. Keeper combines custom models with third-party models, including OpenAI’s GPT API. Its homepage (September 2026) still says human matchmakers hand-vet matches.

That human step is shrinking. In December 2025 Keeper said the AI already searches, ranks and proposes matches, with a final review by a human matchmaker, and CEO Jake Kozloski told AlleyWatch he expected the AI to be good enough to remove the human matchmaker entirely in the third quarter of 2026. The live site had not announced that change by late September 2026.

      Strict preference matching

Keeper says it only introduces people when they meet your standards and you meet theirs, within a small margin of flexibility. Its comparison page promises to show which of your preferences a match meets and which they do not, and mentions Big Five personality and IQ screening.

      Women-first match approval

For male-female matches, Keeper shows each match to the woman first. If she is interested, her profile goes to the man; if not, he never sees it. Keeper introduces the two of you only if both are interested.

      Same-sex matching (since June 2026)

Keeper added same-sex matching, with gender and orientation settings, on 2 June 2026, according to its changelog. This addresses a criticism in VICE’s 2025 coverage that the service matched only heterosexual couples.

Photo Testing and free Playground tools

Photo Testing lets you have dating photos rated by anonymous strangers in a demographic you choose, with normalized scores and written feedback. You earn credits by rating others or pay for credits. Keeper Playground (launched August 2026) hosts free experiments, including a Dating Desirability Test, a Relationship Longevity Quiz and a Singles Tax Calculator.

      Benefits of using Keeper

      • Less time on apps: one vetted match at a time replaces endless swiping.
      • Serious intent only: the service is built for marriage and screens out casual daters.
      • Transparent fit: Keeper says it shows which of your preferences each match meets.
      • Pay-for-results structure: no sign-up fee, no subscription and no long-term contract, according to the FAQ. You can pause matching at any time.
      • A free route exists: free members can still be matched, with paying members.

      Keeper use cases by role

      • Busy professionals and founders: outsource the search when there is little time for dating apps.
      • Singles with precise criteria: people whose must-haves are hard to filter for on mainstream apps.
      • Singles tired of dating apps: people who want fewer, more deliberate introductions.
      • Curious daters: test how realistic your expectations are with the free Standards Calculator (US data only).

      How much does Keeper cost?

Keeper does not publish a price list. As of September 2026, its FAQ describes two plans without dollar amounts. Figures marked “Reported” below come from press coverage, not Keeper’s site, and may have changed. Expect a personal quote after you apply.

      PlanPriceWhat you get
Free$0Matched only with paying members; waits can be longer
Marriage BountyNot published; quoted after you apply. Reported: bounty of about $50,000, with around $5,000 per date (VICE and AlleyWatch, 2025; PitchBook via Yahoo Finance, February 2026)Matches with both free and paying members; a fee for each match, each one 20% lower than the last and counting toward the bounty; a one-time success fee when you reach a relationship milestone

Keeper’s FAQ lists the milestones that trigger the success fee: a civil or religious marriage, having a child together, adopting each other’s child, living at the same address for a year or more, or still being together 18 months after the introduction. Keeper’s terms say fees already paid are non-refundable unless your plan terms or a guarantee say otherwise.

Keeper’s Master Plan (updated May 2026) describes a future mid-tier service at “roughly 1/10th the price” and eventually a fully automated one, without launch dates.

      Keeper pros and cons

      Pros

      • Built only for people who want marriage or a lifelong partner
      • No sign-up fee, subscription or long-term contract
      • Free plan available; paid fees are tied to matches and milestones, not a subscription
      • Same-sex matching since June 2026
      • Useful free tools: Standards Calculator, Photo Testing credits and Playground quizzes
      • Clear statement that Keeper does not sell your data

      Cons

      • Very expensive for paying members, and prices are not published
      • Network concentrated in the US, Canada and UK; English only
      • Asks for highly personal data, including finances and test scores
      • Success rate is a company claim that has not been independently audited
      • Paid fees are generally non-refundable, and disputes go to binding individual arbitration

      Privacy and success-rate caveats

Keeper’s FAQ says it never sells your data or shares it with anyone outside your match, and that your specific preferences stay confidential. The privacy policy (updated 12 August 2026) is more detailed. It covers sensitive data such as sexual orientation, racial or ethnic origin and religious beliefs, collected with consent where the law requires it. It allows use of your data for internal AI model training, and sharing of “certain traits”, in pseudonymous form, with selected partners for research and model development. It also notes that some advertising or analytics sharing may legally count as a “sale”. It describes deletion requests and specific rights for EEA, UK and California residents.

On results, Keeper’s FAQ claims that 1 in 10 Keeper first dates have led to marriage. VICE reported the company’s claim as marriage or engagement during the beta phase. Either way it is self-reported, so treat it as marketing rather than evidence. Keeper’s terms bar registered sex offenders and people convicted of violent or sexual crimes, but they also state that Keeper does not run criminal background checks, sex-offender registry searches or identity and age verification on every member.

      How to use Keeper

      1. Try the free Standards Calculator at keeper.ai/calc to test how realistic your criteria are (it uses US data only).
      2. Sign up at app.keeper.ai. There is no sign-up fee. Keeper runs as a web app in your browser.
      3. Answer the questionnaires in detail. Keeper says more complete answers lead to better matches.
      4. Upload photos, and consider Photo Testing to see which ones work best.
      5. Choose the free plan or ask about the Marriage Bounty, and read the plan terms and price before signing.
      6. Review each match and the list of preferences they meet. Approve only the people you want to meet.
      7. After a date, give feedback so the next match is better. Pause your profile at any time if you need a break.

      Keeper alternatives

      • Hinge: pick it for a mainstream dating app aimed at relationships (“designed to be deleted”) without a matchmaker’s fees.
      • Tawkify: pick it if you want a personal human matchmaker who plans dates and refines matches with you; it starts with a free assessment.
      • Three Day Rule: pick it for a US matchmaking service with a personal matchmaker plus dating coaches, in cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami.
      • Bumble: pick it for a self-serve app that covers both dating (Bumble Date) and friendships (BFF).

      Frequently asked questions

      Is Keeper AI legit?

Keeper is a real, venture-backed company: Keeper Dating, Inc., founded in May 2022 by CEO Jake Kozloski, with a $4 million pre-seed round led by Lightbank and Lakehouse Ventures. It is live in September 2026 and shipping updates. Its headline success rate comes from the company itself and has not been independently audited, so treat it as a marketing claim.

      How much does Keeper cost?

Keeper does not publish prices. Its FAQ describes a free plan and a paid Marriage Bounty: a fee for each match, falling 20% per match, plus a one-time success fee at a relationship milestone. Press reports from 2025 and February 2026 put the bounty at about $50,000, with around $5,000 per date. Expect a personal quote after you apply.

      Is Keeper free for women?

Keeper’s free plan is open to anyone, but free members are only matched with paying members, and the FAQ says they sometimes wait longer. In practice, press coverage has described women joining free while men pay the Marriage Bounty. Keeper also shows each match to the woman first; the man only sees her profile if she is interested.

Where is Keeper available, and does it work in the UAE or Middle East?

According to its FAQ, Keeper is active mainly in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, and is only available in English. Anyone can sign up from elsewhere, including the Gulf, but the company says its network outside those countries is still limited, so matches in MENA are likely to be scarce for now.

Is Keeper AI the same as the Keeper AI Standards Test or Keeper Security?

No for Keeper Security, which is an unrelated password and privileged access management company. The dating standards calculator is partly Keeper’s: its official free Standards Calculator lives at keeper.ai/calc. Quiz sites on other domains that use “Keeper AI Standards Test” style names are not the official tool and are separate from Keeper’s matchmaking service.

      Does Keeper match same-sex couples?

Yes, since 2 June 2026. Keeper’s changelog lists same-sex matching support, with new gender and orientation settings, on that date. Earlier coverage, including VICE in 2025, criticised the service for matching only heterosexual couples, so older reviews that say it is straight-only are out of date.

      Does Keeper use ChatGPT?

Partly. Keeper’s FAQ says its proprietary algorithm combines custom AI models with selected third-party models, including OpenAI’s GPT API. The AI analyzes your questionnaire answers and checks photos against your appearance preferences. Human matchmakers still review matches before introductions.

      Verdict

Keeper is a serious attempt to automate traditional matchmaking, and in September 2026 it is active and shipping updates. Its strengths are a clear focus on marriage, strict preference matching, same-sex support and a results-based fee model with a free route. The trade-offs are cost, unpublished prices, an English-only network centered on North America and the UK, and a lot of personal data handed to a young startup.

It suits committed singles in the US, Canada or UK who can afford it and accept a data-heavy process. Readers in the Middle East should expect few matches for now. If you apply, read the plan terms, refund rules and privacy policy before signing a bounty contract.
